Herbal Tube Tops
Herbal Tube Tops
Honoring the sweet summer time and medicinal herbs that are abundant in this season, these tube tops are hand dyed and sewn by Motherwort & Magnolia. They are made from a hemp/cotton stretch fabric, are slightly tapered and stamped with calendula, tulsi and stinging nettle. They are reversible front and back, with the common name on one side. These are ready to ship items.
We are makers who create out of our homes where furry companions such as cats and dogs live as well, and we both have wool items. We lint roll our garments before shipping, and do our best to make sure no pet fur gets sent along in the package. We keep our animals away from and off of our garments.

🌿 STINGING NETTLE 🌿
Stinging nettle does exactly that, it stings you like bees do! It has many tiny hairs that contain formic acid, the same compound ants have when they bite. There is healing benefit to this attribute, as well as a signature of its affinities. Nettle is a great remedy for cooling excessive heat, helping inflammation, skin issues, irritation - in this way we see it's fiery sharp persona actually soothing all those fiery and sharp complications in the body. It is also used topically, taking a fresh stalk and thrashing an area of the body that needs blood flow, that may be inflamed/achey joints. Internally it has mega heath benefits, acting to open up channels of elimination, expelling water and excess heat, tonifying tissues, building and detoxifying blood, helping to clear inflammation in head and throat, and having an affinity for kidney and urinary tract complaints. One of the most nutrient dense foods, nettle contains high amounts of minerals, vitamins, chlorophyll, protein, amino acids - it really nourishes you at deep cellular level and helps to clean and build blood. The seeds have an affinity for the kidneys and the adrenals, while the roots have an affinity for prostate health.
Not only that but it can be used as a fiber for making textiles 🤯 what can't nettle do? We honor this great healing friend for their abundant and unique medicines. 🌿
💜 TULSI 💜
Aka holy basil, tulsi basil
Tulsi is one of my absolute favorite plants and medicines, I swoon over everything about her. Her divine scent, her sweet little purple flowers, how she shows up in my garden now without me planting, and her bountiful medicinal and therapeutic properties. Tulsi has an affinity for the digestive system, nervous system and upper respiratory tract. She also helps reverse insulin resistance, stimulates the immune system and is used as a nootropic (increase cognition). One of the recent popular uses of tulsi is as a plant that helps you cope with stress (adaptogen). She is rejuvenating, calming, uplifting, and clearing. Spiritually, she is named "queen of herbs" and is one of the most holy plants in Ayurveda medicine, used to bring clarity and focus and alignment with the divine.

🌼 CALENDULA 🌼
Beams of light, these little flowers are prolific, draught tolerant and great healers. Calendula is one of the best plants used for wound healing, helping to speed up the healing process and help prevent scaring. It also prevents stagnation of fluids, helps with bacterial overgrowth and infection, and soothes inflammation. Some other actions are a emmenagogue, immune stimulant, bitter tonic and lymphatic alternative, helping to open channels of elimination and also used for swollen lymph nodes. It is slightly warming in its energetics ☀️
